01Refund schedule
All bookings use the same structure: a 40% non-refundable deposit and a 60% balance. The timing below shows the refund as a percentage of the total trek price; the 30-59 day window returns 50% of the paid balance, equal to 30% of the total price.
The deposit is genuinely non-refundable. We begin spending it on lodge holds, permit work, guide assignment, and operational preparation within 48 hours of confirmation.
02Worked example
For a $2,250 Journey-tier booking, the deposit is $900 and the balance is $1,350.
03Exceptions
Documented medical emergency
Reviewed by Sandesh and Deepak case by case. LHJ may offer a partial refund or future trek credit beyond the standard policy.
Force majeure
Earthquake, pandemic, government travel ban, or similar disruption may result in a full credit or cash refund minus non-recoverable costs.
LHJ-initiated cancellation
If we cancel for insufficient group size or safety reasons, you receive a full refund of all payments, including the deposit.
04How to cancel
- Email your cancellation request to legal@lovehimalayajourney.com.
- Include your trek name, departure date, invoice number, and the reason for cancellation.
- Sandesh confirms the refund calculation in writing before processing any payment return through Stripe.
05Partner groups
B2B partner cancellations follow the same timeline on the full group wholesale amount. If the partner replaces an individual participant, no penalty is needed. If not, the standard B2C schedule applies to that participant's wholesale share.
